Rugged & Relaxing Montserrat
Breathtaking Montserrat is the Caribbean the "way it used to be". Tranquil, safe, clean, and the friendliest locals. The north half of the island where the small population lives is lush green mountains and small quiet beaches. It's dotted with homes and small businesses - including numerous incredible restaurants. Not a billboard nor franchise on the island. Not even a stoplight!. The south half of the island is the Exclusion Zone as the Soufriere Volcano is still venting gas & steam. You can now book a guided tour into the Exclusion Zone, and walk on top of the former capital city of Plymouth buried under 30 feet of ash - the modern day "Pompeii". Montserrat is easy to get to with several scenic 20 minute flights daily from Antigua. I highly recommend staying at Gingerbread Hill - your home away from home in Montserrat.
